Case Study: JCB 8026 Digger Recovery near Bicester
Plant Machinery Rescue · Winching · Bicester, Oxfordshire
The JCB 8026 completely bogged down in soft mud near Bicester, with our Century 612 wrecker arriving on scene.
When heavy plant machinery gets stuck, standard recovery vehicles simply aren't enough. We recently received a call to attend a site near Bicester, Oxfordshire, where a JCB 8026 mini digger had become completely immobilised in soft mud.
The digger's rubber tracks had dug themselves deep into the soft ground, leaving the machine with zero traction. With the tracks completely buried, it was impossible for the operator to drive it out, and standard flatbed trucks couldn't get close enough to help.
The Solution: Medium-Duty Winching
To tackle this job, we deployed our medium-duty Century 612 wrecker. This heavy-duty recovery vehicle is equipped with a powerful winch designed specifically for pulling heavy loads out of difficult terrain.
Our Century 612 wrecker positioned on solid ground to safely winch the machinery free.
Our operator positioned the wrecker on stable ground and set up the winch lines. Using careful, controlled tension, we were able to pull the JCB 8026 free from the mud without causing any damage to the machine or the surrounding site.
Once the digger was back on solid ground, the operator was able to drive it away. No flatbed transport was required, and the customer avoided a very expensive and time-consuming extraction process.
The Result: Machinery Recovered Safely
This mini digger recovery highlights our capability to handle specialised winching recovery for plant machinery. Whether it's a digger, a dumper, or construction equipment, we have the right vehicles and equipment to get the job done safely.
The JCB 8026 safely extracted from the mud and back on solid ground, with our Century 612 wrecker standing by.
